For example; because the information is stored in a standard format on your file system, a third party application like the Google Desktop Search can index and search your Net Snippets content. Or, if you want to edit an image you saved from the web using your image editor of choice, you can simply open the file and edit it from your file system.
2. You can always access the information stored in Net Snippets directly from your file system.
3. You are not married to Net Snippets for life, your information is always accessible even if you decide in the future to stop using Net Snippets, or to move to another application. Whereas if your information is stored in an application that uses a proprietary database, divorce from its vendor is likely to be anything from difficult to downright impossible.
